RK Cattle is a family-owned and operated Commercial Feedyard.  Started in 2004 by Ryan and Kate Ortner, RK Cattle began as a small farming and Cow-calf enterprise.  RK Cattle has grown and evolved with the first 10K head feedyard purchased in Cimarron, KS.  In 2018 RK Cattle relocated to Bassett, NE, and bought the Pine Creek Feed Yard and Farm from Riverview Co.  Moving the Farm and Feeding Operation to North Central Nebraska accomplished a move into an area that produces some of the finest feeder cattle in the world, sits on top of the most abundant underground water reservoir in the world, “the Ogallala Aquifer,” and most importantly placed the Ortner family in a fantastic area to raise a family.
